Created at the zenith of Australia's music festival scene (1992-2014), the Sophie Howarth Photography Rock & Roll Archive will soon be available online.

If you know the era, you will recognise Sophie's work. She was the official photographer for the Big Day Out; wrote the first book ever published about the festival, and was a photographer for Rolling Stone Australia. Sophie covered Homebake, Summersault, Splendour in the Grass, and the inaugural Garma Festival.
 

Her work is regularly featured in museums and galleries:

• Unpopular, Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, Sydney (2022-2023);

• Behind the Lens with Sophie Howarth, Glasshouse Gallery, Port Macquarie (2021-2022), and

• WE CAN BE HEROES: A backstage pass, Newcastle Art Gallery, Newcastle (2020-2021).
